Gas State
Gas is made up of individual atoms, elemental molecules made from one type of atom. It is not rigid, has no fixed volume or shape. This substance can only be contained if it is fully surrounded by a container. You can easily put your hand through it.
Some examples of a gas are the air we breathe, steam, helium, etc.
Phases
There are phases gas goes through to turn into other states of matter. When gas condensates it converts into a liquid. And when it deposits it turns into a solid figure.
Vocabulary List
- Condensation- is the change of the physical state of matter from gas phase into liquid phase.
- Deposition- the settling of particles onto a surface.
- Substance- a particular kind of matter with uniform properties.
